Our Editor-in-Chief

Marcus Todd Brooks is an independent political analyst and the founder/editor of The Brooks Brief, a platform dedicated to Independent Political Analysis with a clear mission: to educate and inform the public.

Marcus Todd Brooks

Born and raised in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area, Marcus developed an early interest in politics through spirited family discussions and exposure to the diverse political landscape of the region. Though he grew up in a family of Democrats, he proudly identifies as an independent, committed to examining issues on their merits rather than through a partisan lens.

Marcus holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Negotiations and Conflict Resolution, academic foundations that shape his analytical approach to political events, national affairs, and geopolitical challenges. His experience spans both the public and private sectors, complemented by his service as a United States Air Force veteran, giving him a grounded, real-world perspective on government, security, and policy.

Now based in Los Angeles, Marcus focuses his writing on U.S. domestic policy, foreign affairs, and reasonable conflict resolution. The Brooks Brief reflects his belief that informed citizens make stronger societies, and that political analysis should be clear, factual, and accessible to everyone.

The Brooks Brief is strengthening its connection to the global research community through ORCID integration. By linking our scholarly contributions and research activities with ORCID, we support greater transparency, proper attribution, and accessibility of our published analysis. This partnership helps establish a verified academic identity while making our work easier to discover, reference, and engage with by researchers, policymakers, and professionals worldwide.
